The Result
RESEARCH & DISCOVERY
Drinking from the firehose(s)
Going in, we thought we were focusing on the end user. The reality is that there was the buyer, the business, and the internal user at VaxCare.
How we got there
COMPANY
Interviewed CEO and VP of Product to understand the brand and where the company wanted to go.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Met with PMs and department leads to understand operations and look under the hood.
PRODUCT
Took stock stock of features and workflows to understand the capabilities and what was useful.
MEDICAL PRACTICES
Visited clinics and performed research sessions with nurses, physicians, and admin staff.
STRATEGY
Defining the service
Mapped the service experience to identify the gaps.
Defined the Actors, their responsibilities and needs. Many people move through a clinic to provide a service.
Defined use cases that mapped to real-life patient encounters.
Establishing a foundation
Getting into the details and defining the most vital information needed by each role and task.
What We Did
Weekly workshops with CEO, Head of Product, and PMs.
Gathered requirements, validated assumptions and defined terminology through information architecture.
Created a site map to stack hands on how the portal and hub would be structured.
UI & VISUAL DESIGN
Contextualize the micro with the macro
VaxCare had never reviewed designs. We had to review complex and detailed flows and get useful feedback without losing the big picture.
What We Did
Defined a look and feel within the existing brand language.
Illustrated task flows that doubled as way-finding when reviewing designs.
Reviewing the UI section by section to stay focused and pay attention to the details.
Regular meetings once or twice a week.
The Outcome
The new VaxCare platform is flexible enough to work with practices of any size.
The launch of the new product needed less training for our partners. The intuitive software and clearly defined uses based on role meant that there was faster onboarding and fewer calls for assistance.
